Time for the Tottenham player ratings after they convincingly dispatched Brighton in the FA Cup fourth round at the Tottenham Stadium this evening.
There were many pleasing performances and the whole team deserve credit for how they applied themselves from the very first minute. It was a deserved win.
Tottenham player ratings
Hugo Lloris – 7
Made a couple of decent saves but one, in particular, was truly world-class and shows he still has his reactions fully intact.
Sergio Reguilon – 6
Was always a threat down the left-hand side and could have got his name on the score sheet.
Ben Davies – 6
Seemed to have a free role across the back, was energetic and is improving under the tutelage of Antonio Conte.
Cristian Romero – 7
Was on top form, looked solid and composed and was rightly subbed off to keep him fresh for Southampton midweek.
Davinson Sanchez – 6
Had a fine game but he always looks one kick away from an error, needs more composure to his game.
Emerson Royal – 7
Scored a deflected goal and was always dangerous down the right, he is fast adapting to English football.
Harry Winks – 6
Was busy in the middle but his lack of creativity could end up costing him his place.
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg – 6
His usual bullying self in the centre of the park but he really does look clumsy at times.
Lucas Moura – 6
Had some dribbling runs but lacked impact, he has had better days.
Son Heung-min – 7
Great to have him back and his run for the third goal showed his class and quality, it was almost Burnley mark 2.
Harry Kane – 8
Back to his best, one brilliant curler and a tap in saw him pick up two goals and he deserves the highest rating today.
Subs
Steven Bergwijn – 5
Missed a golden opportunity to score and needs to be more consistent.
Dejan Kulusevski – 6
The young Swede should have had an assist but Bergwijn denied him that on his Tottenham debut.
Rodrigo Bentancur – 6
Showed in the little time he was on the pitch that he will be a force in this Spurs side.
Joe Rodon – 5
Average score did nothing sensational but did nothing wrong either
Matt Doherty – 5
Average score, not on long enough to get anything other than the average rating.
