Tottenham remain keen on securing the permanent signing of Juventus midfielder Dejan Kulusevski, however, there is a twist.
The Swedish player joined Spurs on an 18-month loan deal last season, with a provision for the move to become permanent if the club qualified for the Champions League. Unfortunately, Tottenham fell short of securing a European spot last season, which means they have the option to send Kulusevski back to Juventus.
Despite the setback, Tottenham has developed a strong liking for Kulusevski and is eager to retain him in their squad for the long term. However, a stumbling block in the deal is the asking price set by Juventus.
Reports from Football Italia suggest that Tottenham is looking for Juventus to lower their original agreement of a 35 million euros fee in order to finalise the permanent transfer. Tottenham hopes that Juventus, who are open to offloading the Swedish midfielder, will be willing to negotiate a reduced fee to facilitate his permanent move to London.
Negotiations between the two clubs will be crucial in determining whether a deal can be reached. Tottenham is eager to secure Kulusevski’s services on a permanent basis, while Juventus may see this as an opportunity to offload the player and potentially agree on a lower fee. The outcome of these discussions will determine whether Kulusevski remains at Tottenham or returns to Juventus for the upcoming season.
Let’s hope that Daniel Levy does not blow this.
