Tottenham Hotspur is currently looking like a circus as the drama surrounding Fabio Paratici follows the departure of Antonio Conte. Paratici, who serves as Spurs’ Director of Football, has had his ban from football in his homeland extended worldwide by FIFA, just hours after Tottenham clarified their next steps on their official website. Despite Paratici’s 30-month ban from football operations extending worldwide, Tottenham has publicly stood by their Sporting Director, stating in an official statement that they will seek further clarification from FIFA.
This decision has left many Spurs fans confused and baffled as to why the club’s leadership is being so loyal to Paratici when most other sides would have sacked him by now. The Athletic’s Tottenham correspondent, Jack Pitt-Brooke, took to Twitter to express his surprise at Tottenham’s decision to keep Paratici, stating that the club has missed yet another opportunity to get rid of him.
Must admit I am genuinely surprised that when Tottenham finally spoke about this issue tonight, they missed yet another opportunity to get rid of Paratici. What do they gain by staying this loyal to him? What's the upside here that I am missing?

Paratici’s ban prohibits him from doing his job, which is crucial at a time when Spurs need a Director of Football more than ever. The club is currently without a manager, and major decisions need to be made regarding recruitment after an underwhelming campaign. Harry Kane’s contract is also due to expire in a year, adding to the pressure on the club’s leadership to make important decisions quickly.
