
Tottenham striker Harry Kane has informed his friends that he will not sign a new deal with the club, amidst a chaotic backdrop, according to Football Insider.
The report claims that sources close to the player have revealed that he is hesitant to commit to a new contract with Tottenham, especially with Manchester United showing interest in signing him this summer.
Tottenham’s managing director of football, Fabio Paratici, has been forced to step back from his role after receiving a worldwide football ban from Fifa.
This came after Tottenham sacked manager Antonio Conte, with Cristian Stellini taking charge until the end of the season. Julian Nagelsmann is believed to be Tottenham’s top choice to replace Conte, but the German is reportedly apprehensive about joining the club, fearing it could damage his career.
Kane has just over a year left on his current contract with Tottenham. Manchester United is keen to sign the striker as they are looking to strengthen their squad with a marquee signing this summer.
Tottenham’s chances of securing a top-four finish this season are still uncertain, while Manchester United is likely to play Champions League football next season.
Kane has scored 23 goals in 39 appearances across all competitions this season, but the returns from his teammates have been poor.
The England captain recently became the Three Lions’ all-time top goalscorer with his 54th strike against Italy in Euro 2024 qualifying.
