Everyone has an opinion, especially when it comes to one of the traditional top-six clubs and when it comes to Tottenham, the pundits seem to come out in force with their viewpoints.
In all fairness, Daniel Levy does hand the pundits, commentators, journalists or whatever else you want to call them, a ton of ammunition. Hiring multiple managers, spending little or no money, signing duds and so on is akin to opening up a sweet shop and letting the local kids know everything is for free when it comes to opinion makers.
This month it is all about transfers and opinions now are centred around who Tottenham should sign, who they should sell, will Levy back Antonio Conte, which positions need upgrading, strengthening or even invented and the end result of all that is almost nothing that is being said is useful information.
Most of the comments from media and I include former players and managers in that, are done for clicks, views etc and very little analysis or common sense is applied.
We do it on here, we have to, we have to get readers to pay for the site but what we will not do is speak the obvious and treat the reader as if they are idiots.
Headlines like, Levy will back Conte says so and so or Dele Alli could be sold this month are what? Nothing, that is what, we already know all that, is there any actual substance, is there any insight, is there anything we do not already know?
The answer is no, it is all the same story repeated multiple times but with a different angle to it and a clickbait headline.
Rather than actually debate something from both sides or bring a fresh look to a situation, it is just the same old regurgitated stuff and all the while the transfer clock ticks down and nothing happens.
Pundits and such like do have a role to play and we may not always agree with their opinions but putting too much emphasis on what they do actually have to say will cause you nothing but heartburn.
Do a test, run a headline in Google but change it a little and see how many of the same sort of articles you see or transfer rumour or which players should be sold or bought, it’s all the same just with a different dress on.
