Former Manchester United player Dion Dublin reckons that Harry Kane is high on United’s manager Erik Ten Hag’s list of targets. Quoted extensively by The Mirror, Dublin has referred to Kane as “the missing link” for the club and thinks he should be their top priority.
Dublin is unconvinced that Marcus Rashford is best suited to carrying the attack and says that Kane would be a better fit for the team. Dublin acknowledges Rashford’s talent but thinks that Kane would be the answer to the spearhead the club has been crying out for. He believes that Kane’s quality, combined with that of other talented players such as Jadon Sancho, Casemiro, Bruno Fernandes, and Christian Eriksen, would make Manchester United a formidable team.
The 53-year-old pundit acknowledged that Kane is a highly skilled player with a string of individual awards, but he wants to see him be more successful within a team. He does not want to see Kane win goalscoring awards and Golden Boots without having a trophy to put on the sideboard.
Dublin also spoke highly of Kane’s attitude and determination. He further described Kane as “chilled, focused, and driven” He thinks that Kane’s stature as a player, combined with his quality and the quality of his potential teammates at United, means that signing Kane would not only make the Red Devils a more competitive team but also put them in a strong position to win the title.
