It is a lot easier to do this Burnley v Tottenham preview after the heroics against Man City at the weekend. It has lifted confidence in the boys and there is every reason to feel that they will leave Turf Moor with all three points.
Straight off the bat, I am not going to say this is a walkover, far from it. That was said before the Man City v Tottenham game and look at where that got everyone with their predictions.
It should also be noted that the Clarets smashed Brighton 3-0 at the weekend, that is no easy task and Sean Dyche’s men were very impressive.
This game will also be very different from how the Man City game played out, it will probably be Burnley that will do the more defending and the option of counter-attacking from Spurs will most likely be few and far between.
That said, Tottenham is full of confidence now, they enter this game in far better shape than they did the City game and if they play to their talents, they really should win.
There is now creativity in the side and you would expect them to be able to break down the Burnley defence and it will not all be about Burnley parking the bus, they will come forward, they have to, they need the points and that should open the game up somewhat.
It is hard to see there being too many changes from the team that started against City, Oliver Skipp remains unavailable but there still may be a change in the middle of the park.
The defence is set to be unchanged, though a lot depends on Sergio Reguilon and his availability, he could be brought in to replace Ryan Sessegnon on the left.
Harry Winks may be brought into the middle alongside Rodrigo Bentancur and I cannot see Dejan Kulusevski not starting, not after his performance against the league champions on Saturday.
Predicted lineup
Lloris; Sessegnon, Romero, Dier, Davies, Royal, Bentancur, Winks, Kulusevski, Kane, Son.
As for the score, I see us winning and keeping a clean sheet but I doubt we will thump the Clarets and so a 2-0 win looks most likely to me.
Predicted Score
Burnley 0-2 Tottenham
